At Briarwood Behavioral Health, your overall mental health is the top priority. To make sure you get the therapy you require, Amy Lemke thoroughly assesses each patient before coming up with a treatment approach. Book a counseling appointment with her today. All her services are provided on an outpatient basis. However, should you require in-patient mental health treatments and detox or residential treatment for substance abuse, she can assist by referring you to specialty providers of psychiatric services. Contact her to learn more.
Individual therapy is what usually comes to mind when patients think of seeking psychiatric services. You will meet one-on-one with Amy to review the paperwork that was completed prior to your appointment to allow Amy to complete her psychosocial assessment. However, if you wish, you may have a support person attend your sessions with you, and Amy requests that a parent or guardian be present for at least part of the initial session with an underage person. At your second appointment, you and Amy will develop your treatment plan, which identifies your goals for treatment. The sessions that follow will be focused on the achievement of those goals. Sessions occur on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, depending on your treatment needs and progress toward goals. Sessions are typically 45 minutes in length.
One member of the couple will be identified as the client for billing and case management purposes. However, both partners will attend the initial session and treatment planning sessions. Treatment will focus on addressing the identified areas for improvement in the relationship. Also, if Amy identifies needs in one or both partners that would best be addressed in individual treatment, she can assist in providing an appropriate referral for that person’s care. Sessions occur on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, depending on treatment needs and progress toward goals. Sessions are typically 45 minutes in length.
Family therapy is specifically tailored to each family and the needs that are identified. It may include all your family members, or possibly only specific members of your family, based on the issues presented and the willingness of family members to participate in treatment. Your specific treatment plan will depend on your family's situation. Family therapy sessions can teach you skills to deepen family connections and get through stressful times, even after you're done going to therapy sessions. During family therapy sessions, it is possible that one or more individual members of the family will have needs identified that are suited for individual treatment. In this case, Amy will assist in making referrals to an individual therapist to address those needs. Sessions occur on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, depending on treatment needs and progress toward goals. Sessions are typically 45 minutes in length.
